having been a fan of bleach and recently been invited to the expo i decided that Rukia would be a good idea to cosplay as since i resemble her more so than any of my other favorates, i decided that since my mum was ill i'd go for a bought costume from ebay rather that put the effort into making one on my own
What a mistake that was, after nearly 5 months and many complaints we received 2 in the post one being an XL size the other that was so mis-shapen i'm suprised we recognised it for what it was supposed to be, so we sent the XL back (which we later regreted) and decided to cut our lossed and try to copy what we had already bought but in a size that fitted me
thankfully by that time my mum was in a healther state and agreed to give me a hand with the sewing
what we had to work from was a jacked that was hugely wide but so short it barley reached my belly button and a skirt that at first glance didnt look too bad but sadly was made so small i think it would have been better off being sold in mothercare i think we discovered it to be a 23 inch waist!!!
so after a week of seatching fabric shops we found some fabric in a uniform specialist that best resembled what we were after for the grey material, the red accents wernt to hard to do after my mum had made the basic jacket shape, being lazy i did cut corners and instead of pitting real pockets on i just stitched faux pocket lips (which i forgot about and nearly broke)
i also modified a pez dispencer into a soul candy dispencer (with very little effort) and i tracked down a display mobile phone that was an almost perfect match for the soul phone featured in the anime
